For 25 years, the Louisiana Housing Finance Agency has helped put Louisianans into homes and apartments. Through a combination of programs including rental assistance, development projects, homebuyer counseling and other applications, thousands have found quality, affordable housing solutions. The LHFA works with lenders, developers, real estate agencies and nonprofits to deliver solutions to Louisiana's low and middle income populations. The MRB Assisted Program helps prospective homebuyers who may not have enough money to meet down payment and closing costs. The program has interest rates that are usually at or below market level. The Louisiana Housing Finance Agency also has an Unassisted Program for those with enough money for down payment and closing costs but want a below market interest rate.
